The United States’ only fully deregulated electricity market, Texas is home to MP2’s headquarters and the state in which we’ve offered our greatest number of services. We are an ERCOT (Electric Reliability Council of Texas)-registered Level IV Qualified Scheduling Entity (QSE), as well as a retail energy provider, able to offer service to the roughly 25 million Texans residing within ERCOT’s territory.
As a QSE, MP2 is one of the few power retailers operating in Texas able to provide demand response services, which allow customers to be paid for curtailing loads during times of heavy demand on the grid. These programs include Emergency Response Service, Load Resource, Four Coincident Peak (4CP), and Economic Price Response.
Independent System Operator New England (“ISO-NE”) is the administrative body for the wholesale electricity markets in Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, Vermont, and most of Maine. The ISO’s roughly 400 market participants trade electricity, capacity, transmission congestion contracts, and other products under its oversight.

Since 1999, the New York Independent System Operator (“NYISO”) has overseen New York State’s competitive wholesale electricity markets, which trade an average of $7.8 billion in electricity products annually. The non-profit organization is committed to expanding access to cheaper wholesale electricity for customers in the state through ongoing technological enhancements.
Delaware is part of the PJM market and a great fit for a retail supplier like MP2, with our ability to provide electricity sourced from renewable energy. By 2020, Delaware will require all retail electricity suppliers to purchase 10% of their electricity sold in the state from renewable energy sources, and 25% by 2026. We can help Delaware businesses meet their own sustainability goals while saving money at the same time.
Nearly all of Illinois’ power is regulated by regional transmission organization (RTO) PJM Interconnection. As an experienced provider of renewable energy, MP2 is perfectly equipped to help the state reach its goal of being 100% renewable by 2050. We offer solar, wind, and other products to both commercial and industrial clients, both on-site and off-site.
Maryland is one of MP2’s newest markets, where most of the northern half of the state is part of PJM. Maryland customers can save money on their energy bills by locking in competitive rates through long-term fixed-price contracts with MP2.
Almost 100% of New Jersey is part of PJM and customers there can take advantage of a competitive energy market. Like Illinois, New Jersey’s energy plan calls for being 100% renewable by 2050, as well as improving the reliability of the grid, both of which MP2 can help the state meet
We completed our expansion into Ohio in 2016 as a Certified Retail Electric Supplier. Virtually all of Ohio’s power is managed by PJM, in which MP2 Energy is a registered Curtailment Service Provider (CRP). By deregulating, the state has fostered competition among retail providers and allowed companies such as MP2 to help residents and business owners save roughly $3 billion per year, according to the non-profit Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council.
MP2 is a leading electric supplier in Pennsylvania, one of the three states from which PJM originated. Most of the state falls within the RTO’s territory and has been the beneficiary of more than $2 billion in annual savings by participating in PJM’s deregulated markets.
Roughly half of Virginia is governed by PJM. As the commonwealth moves toward its goal of having its utilities derive 15% of their electricity from renewable energy sources by 2025, MP2 will be a key component of those efforts. We have years of experience structuring contracts with sustainable power generators.
Power customers in the nation’s capital can sign with MP2 Energy as their retail energy provider now that we have expanded into D.C. A member of PJM, Washington is regulated by the DC Public Service Commission, with most of the state’s grid operated by Pepco.
